Beyond the gates [Various x reader] part 12

On the meadow behind the HQ you could make out your friend Hanji and the young titan-shifter next to her.
Waving, you ran towards her until you came to a hold in front of them, panting heavily. You leaned over and put your hands on your knees, trying to calm down your hard breathing.

As you finally could breath normally you raised your head and grinned at Hanji, who was happy to see you.

"(f/n), what are you doing here?"
"I just wanted to see the famous titan-boy in real life" you said as you patted Eren's back. He blushed slightly at your action and turned away from you, making it impossible for you to look at his pinkish cheeks.

"Oi shitty glasses, you didn’t ask me if I was okay with you kidnapping him!"

You would have noticed this voice everywhere and so you flinched, knowing that he would stand beside you any second.
Eventually you decided to turn around and play like nothing had ever happened but as soon as you saw him, you could feel how your courage faded into thin air.

'No, courage, stay with me!'

As soon the small man stood in front of you, his eyes softened slightly but as he saw your bandaged wrist, he furrowed his brows, knowing the he wasn't innocent.
You stood firm on your feet, chest high and your nose proudly in the air, trying to conceal your weakness with a self-confident stance.

"Awww, but shorty, pleaaaaasee?"

You could see how anger boiled within Levi as Hanji called him 'shorty'.
With a heavy sigh he gave in and let her continue her weird experiments under the circumstance that he could stay and watch her.

"Shorty, since when are you interested in my experiments?"
"It's none of your business!"





The whole afternoon was pretty boring. You expected him to shift into a titan, but nothing happened, he just had to do some physical exercises, but nothing more.

You sat under the nearby tree and leaned against it. The shadow under the tree was quite refreshing and after a while you closed your eyes, enjoying this moment of peace. From time to time you got blended when the wind came along and changed the position of the leaves so that the sun could shine through, hamper you to drift off and sleep.
You grunted as the sun once again dared to disturb your peaceful sleep when you felt how a strong, large hand located itself on your eyes.
You stirred and grabbed the hand to remove it from your eyelids.
When you looked at the owner of this hand you were staggered to see Reiner.
"Hey no need to be upset, I wanted to help you drift off, so lay down and enjoy this moment."

Usually you wouldn't give in, usually you would have gone away, but now it seemed perfect. You were sleepy and sleep would feel like heaven right now and there was no one that was going to disturb you, not even the sun because of Reiner. Hanji wouldn't need your help either because she was still observing Eren's running stance.
So, you laid your head on the blonds shoulder and tried to sleep. Whenever the wind blew by, Reiner held his hand in front of your eyes to shield them from the disturbing sun.
As time was going on you slided down and Reiner with you, so that after a while Reiner and you were lying under the tree, your head on his chest, sleeping peacefully.
Whenever he pushed one of your locks from your face, you stirred what caused him to chuckle slightly, not to loud or else you would wake up.

"I love the way you sleep" he mumbled to no one in particular.

He loved this moment, hearing you breathing, feeling your hands on his chest, smelling your lovely scent and no one was there to disturb you....or that's what he thought.

"(F/N)!! Eren's going to shift now!"

Reiner was about to kiss your forehead when you opened your eyes and stood up, causing you to hit your head against his chin. Yelping in pain, you guided your hand to the hurting area and gingerly rubbed your pulsating head. Meanwhile Reiner briefly rubbed his chin out of a human reflex before he retreated his hand and casually laid it in his lap.
As soon as the pain began to disappear, you turned around and glared at the one with the way too hard chin.

"Were you about to kiss me?"

He grinned and nodded. You rolled your eyes and ran away, not wanting to miss this moment because of a discussion about his lips and your forehead.

When you arrived, you could see Erwin and Levi standing next to Hanji and how Eren bit his hand.
"(F/N) run!"

'Run?'

As Eren's teeth pierced through his own skin a dazzling lightning was seen and you felt how you flew through the air because of the explosion that happened when the titan-boy wasn't a boy anymore. You cursed yourself for not wearing your 3DMG but how could you know that Eren's shifting happens with something similar to an explosion? Your body flew through the air and you screamed as if it would help you to get down on earth safely.
As you felt that gravity was stronger than the force of the explosion that brought you up in the air, you embraced yourself and hoped that death wouldn't hurt.
The ground you hit was very soft and....warm.

You looked up and stared at two green, luminous eyes.
You were speechless when you saw him, the titan you had heard about was now your ground. Your eyes were wide and your lips slightly parted as you breathed through your mouth, trying to calm you down. You were sitting on a titan's hand!

"Eren, you saved me? A titan saved me?"

You rose to your feet and began to walk on his hand, stumbling every once in a while as his skin gave in under your weight.
Eren raised his hand to his eye-level and looked you right in your eyes. As you looked back at him, back at those shining green eyes, back at the eyes that were the hope for humanity.....back at the eyes that saved you, you felt.....safe.

"JAEGER, DON'T YOU DARE TO EAT HER!"

You chuckled slightly when you heard Levi shout at Eren. Now he was even smaller and he still couldn't keep his mouth shut.

You walked towards his nose and Eren moved his hand along with you, avoiding that you would fall down if you reach the end and don't even see it.

You placed a hand on his nose and even though his skin was awfully hot you didn't think about to take it back. You rubbed his nose and let a firstly small laughter escape your lips until you were laughing out loud.
Eren grunted in return which caused you to laugh even louder.

"Eren, I can't believe that it's you! I'm on a titan's hand, touching his nose. Hahaha this is so hilarious......Thank you for saving my life, I owe you something!"

You gingerly placed your hand on your lips, kissed it and placed it back on his nose.

"I'm sorry but...I don't want to burn my lips. Could you let me down? We can chat later if you would like to."

The giant hand got closer to the ground and you hoped off it and landed gracefully on the meadow.

"WAAA (f/n)~ I can't believe it but you are still alive. Hahaha it's hilarious, a titan saved your life! Tell me how do you feel?"
"Haha, actually I feel awesome. This is probably the best part since coming here! I love it!"

You totally forgot that Erwin and Levi were standing next to Hanji.

Erwin/Levi: 'Her best moment since coming here?'

Both of them were hurt because of your remark. Eren made you smile again, not them, and you had even admitted that this was the best moment so far.

Levi kept his eyes forward as he spoke to his superior.

"Do you still think it was a good idea to give her have some time?"

Levi turned on his heel, followed by Erwin.
You didn't even see them as they left, you were too distracted staring at the titan in front of you and fangirling about him with Hanji.

-Time skip-

You were on your way back to Hanji's room which you had been sharing with her for the last couple of days.
After Hanji had seen enough of Eren's titan-form (you were surprised that it was even possible) you promised Eren to eat dinner with him as a little gesture of gratitude from your side and went back to Hanji's room, trying to make you look presentably and not like you just flew through the air, afraid to die any second.

As you got closer to Hanji's room you were surprised to hear the shuffling of papers and low swearing from behind the door. From what you knew Hanji still had to clear up her equipment so... who was in her room?

You creaked the door open to look through the little fissure you had made and what you saw made your blood boil. There was someone in her room, but not Hanji herself, not one of her scientists or squad members, there was Angelique.

"Angelique?! What are you doing here?!"

Angelique looked up, not looking very surprised or guilty and continued to shuffle through Hanji's drawers.

"So help me god, take your filthy hands out of her drawer!"

You approached her with quick, heavy footsteps, the anger in you increasing as Angelique kept on shuffling, not showing the hint of angst or guilt.

When you stood in front of her you grabbed her wrist in a dead like grip and tore it out of the drawer.
You glared at her, angrier than you had ever been as you gritted your teeth and hissed through them.

"I won't repeat myself twice, WHAT are you doing here?"
"We have a job to do and I follow Nile's orders!"
"And this is the right thing to do?!"
"Yeah, you didn't want to do it so it's my job now! Now let me continue and don't hamper my work."

Not right minded and filled with anger you grabbed the back of her head and brought your knee up, colliding with her nose.

"OH SHIT (F/N)!! WHAT THE ACTUAL F*CK ARE YOU DOING?"
"I HELP MY FRIEND?"
"AREN'T WE FRIENDS ANYMORE?"
"NOT SINCE YESTERDAY!!"

The words spilled out of your mouth but in that moment you didn't feel sorry for her. Angelique's eyes began to water and slowly little silver drops rolled down her cheek, down her blood covered chin. She didn't cry because of her bleeding nose, she cried because of your words. Her best friend abandoned her. It was more than she could take and so she ran out of Hanji's office, crying like a little girl.

Sympathetic you looked after her but didn't follow. You had become so good friends during your time in the Military Police and you didn't want to lose her, but now was not the time to think about it, there would be enough time when you go back home.
You looked at your hand that had a few drops of Angelique's blood on it and began to clear up the mess she had made, at least Hanji shouldn't worry any more.


After what seemed like an eternity you were done with cleaning her office and replaced your uncomfortable uniform with your casual civilian outfit.
Right as you were done, Hanji opened the door and looked at you, her eyes gleaming as she saw you.
"Waaa~ you look beautiful, do you have a date?"
She winked at your blushing figure which caused her to laugh out loud.
She was right, you were beautiful, a simple (f/c) dress that stopped right above your knees, with a bow on its back, perfectly showing your figure.

"No, not really but I won't eat with you tonight, I asked out Eren to express my gratitude."
"Are you sure it's a good idea? I mean...what about the other two?"
"Forget about them, I'm here to live my life as long as I can, so I won't miss this opportunity. I'll talk with them later."
"Naa, as long as you think it's a good idea.... I'm sure Jaeger is happy to see you."


-dining hall-

"You really have a date with (f/n)?"
"Sure I have" Eren grinned at his fellow soliders.
"I don't think she's the right one for you" Mikasa spoke from the back of the crowd to her ‘adoptive’-brother.
The boys continued to quiz Eren how he got the chance to date you, not believing that a titan-shifter like him was successful.
As the big, wooden doors of the dining hall flew open everybody looked at the two persons in the doorway.

"Oh my gosh!" the entire dining hall said in union, admiring the person who joined them at dinner.
